UU
Gastronomical Society
Contact: Emily Sanders. The Gastronomical Society has been in existence since 1997. The Culinary Treasures Cookbook was published in 1998. Since its inception, the group has hosted gourmet meals covering every theme imaginable and we have dined at restaurants within a 50-mile radius of Champaign-Urbana. Many of us who attended the first “Gastro Dinner” at Radio Maria Restaurant are still members today.
Over the past year,we enjoyed many new and interesting themes. We have continued to adjust our schedule to the groups needs; we are very flexible. This year our themes were: Brunch, Dagwood Sandwiches, Dos Reales Restaurant, 50th Birthday Party for Jerry, Spanish Tapas, Fruits, Chili & Beer, Spring foods, 1950’s. It will be fun to see what themes we come up with next year.
Thanks to all who hosted and all who attended. “Gastro” continues to be a small but significant part of the UU Church. We welcome all new members and visitors. Inquiries may be made to Emily Sanders at emily@sanders-home.net.
